IESC
L'Institut d'études scientifiques de Cargèse (IESC) is internationally recognized for its high-quality scientific program. Please visit our website for detailed program: www.iesc.univ-corse.fr. The IESC is a CNRS unit also affiliated to the University of Corsica and of Nice Sophia Antipolis; our activity started in the 60's as an independent association run by the eminent theoretical physicist Maurice Levy.
Prominent scientists from all scientific fields, Nobels and Lasker Laureates frequently participate to conferences and schools organized at the Institute.
The conferences and schools held in Cargèse promote intensive discussion and exchange of ideas at the frontiers of any scientific field and historically nucleation of ideas leading to major scientific advancements has happened at the institute.
The Institute favors conferences in vital, emerging areas that will particularly benefit from scientific exchanges and personal interactions.
The events organized at the IESC cover a broad horizon of scientific subjects; we privilege fundamental research or technology with particular attention to emerging fields at the leading edge of science.
Aim of this collection is to provide long lasting testimonials and public records of scientific discussions and ideas emerged during conferences held at the IESC.
