The IESC is a CNRS unit also affiliated to the University of Corsica and of Nice Sophia Antipolis; our activity started in the 60's as an independent association run by the eminent theoretical physicist Maurice Levy.
Prominent scientists from all scientific fields, Nobels and Lasker Laureates frequently participate to conferences and schools organized at the Institute.
The conferences and schools held in Cargèse promote intensive discussion and exchange of ideas at the frontiers of any scientific field and historically nucleation of ideas leading to major scientific advancements has happened at the institute.
The Institute favors conferences in vital, emerging areas that will particularly benefit from scientific exchanges and personal interactions.
